Tip Of The Day #025
Do you really need to use every channel in every universe or can you leave blocks of unused channels.
Check sequence has an opinion on this. If each gap is less than 512 channels then it will ignore it.
If it is 512-49999 it will give you a warning.
Anything 50000+ and you will get an error.
Small gaps are to be expected.
Medium sized gaps are pretty much required if you go the absolute channel numbering route and don’t want to be forever in renumbering hell. If you don’t use absolute numbering then they are not required.
Large gaps are wasteful in two ways.
Fseq files will be much larger. If you have 10,000 unused channels in a 3 minute 20fps sequence then that is 36mb of unnecessary file size.
This data is then also sent over your network while your show plays. About 400 wasteful packets every second.
