To create a multilayer star from a single string of pixels set the following properties (we are going to assume a 3 layer star total 90 pixels)

Strings: 1 – this is consistent with the number of connections to our controller.
Lights/String – 90
Layer Sizes – 40,30,20 – this is the secret sauce … this must total to 90 and it represents from the outside in how many pixels are in each of the layered stars.
