Tip Of The Day #023
Ever seen a warning like this in check sequence and wondered what it means and how to fix it?
“WARN: Model Group ‘Verticals’ in preview ‘Unassigned’ contains model ‘Verical Door’ which is in preview ‘Default’. This will cause the ‘Verical Door’ model to also appear in the ‘Unassigned’ preview.”
So I have two previews … the default preview which is the main one I see and an unassigned preview (which you also have) which is were I keep models I dont want to show.
I have a model ‘Vertical Door’ which is in my default view so I can see it … but that model is in a group which is in the unassigned preview. So when I look at my unassigned preview I can see my ‘Vertical Door’ … now this is pretty harmless in this case and I can ignore it … but i could also fix it by doing one of two things:
I can move the model group ‘Verticals’ into the default preview … this is probably the right thing to do.
I can move the mode ‘Vertical Door’ into the unassigned preview … but then I wouldn’t see it in my show … and that aint right.
This is a warning only … there are times when making a model appear in multiple previews is useful … and using a model group is an easy way to do it.
